Neurology and the Passion for Art

This is another great lecture by Dr.Ramachandran. I got very interested when he started to talk about "synesthesia" and how it is linked to Metaphors. I think the vedic literature should be seen as a 'right-brain' creation with images, metaphors, rather than 'left-brain' creation. That will explain our cultural understanding that vedas as mystical rather than logical.

Phantoms in the brain

This is a fascinating two part documentary featuring work by neurologist prof.Ramachandran. What worries me though in these kinds of research is the conclusions on religion is based only on christianity as a model. I find it very interesting to compare concepts of indriyas to chitta (katopanishad part15) to various research results in this documentary.

Steve Jobs - Stay hungry stay foolish

Mental models: Dr.Srikumar Rao's talk

Pretty interesting talk by Dr.Rao's at google. It kind of reminds me that the western narrative of history is "a" reality and not "the" reality.

The Hidden Face of Newton

A fascinating BBC documentary on the life of Issac Newton. This documntary reveals Newtons not-so-famous ideas and motivations of his work. What gave 'meaning' to his work was his theological beliefs about the world.
